Pakistan, Oct. 12 -- Lahore police registered 5,980 cases against drug peddlers and arrested 6,199 suspects during the current year so far, recovering 732 kilogrammes of ice, 2,262 kilogrammes of charas and 114 kilogrammes of heroin.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Faisal Kamran said this during an online open court attended by Pakistanis residing in the country and abroad on Sunday.

The online Khuli Kachehri, organised through Facebook Live, provided a platform for citizens to share their complaints, suggestions and concerns regarding police performance and discuss measures to control crime.
