Pakistan, July 15 -- The Punjab government has launched a major operation to stop bird strikes near Lahore Airport. This action came after Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz gave strict instructions to aviation and environmental authorities. Bird strikes pose serious dangers to planes during take-off and landing.
An 8-kilometre area around the airport is now declared a "No-Bird Zone." Wildlife teams are removing bird nests, especially of kites, that are known for flying high. Rescue 1122 is helping by using ladders and cranes to remove nests from poles and mobile towers.
