Pakistan, Sept. 4 -- Pakistan's stock market closed higher on Friday as the KSE-100 index gained 399 points. Meanwhile, the rupee strengthened marginally against the US dollar.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange data, the KSE-100 index rose 399.14 points. The benchmark gained 0.23% and closed at 175,328.82.

Market activity remained positive during the session, with more stocks gaining than declining. Out of 569 traded stocks, 258 advanced, 207 declined and 104 remained unchanged.

The index moved between an intraday high of 175,418.29 and a low of 174,515.38. Furthermore, the KSE-100 segment recorded turnover of 259.37 million shares. Traded value stood at around Rs16.29 billion.
