Pakistan, Oct. 1 -- The Pakistan Stock Exchange reversed early gains on Thursday as rising oil prices pressured investor sentiment. Uncertainty over renewed US-Iran diplomatic efforts also added to the cautious market mood. The benchmark KSE-100 Index fell 1,332.47 points, or 0.78%.

The index closed at 168,636.85 after reaching an intraday high of 170,688.38. It also touched a low of 168,567.79 during the session. The market initially opened with gains before selling pressure emerged later.

At 10:15am, the KSE-100 stood at 170,270.16, up 300.84 points. However, the index gradually lost ground as the trading session continued. Rising global oil prices contributed to pressure across the market.
