Pakistan, July 8 -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly has passed an amendment to its Privileges Act, introducing penalties for actions considered to violate the privileges and dignity of the provincial legislature, including the unauthorized publication of assembly proceedings and committee reports.

Under the newly approved law, publishing or broadcasting the proceedings of the assembly or its standing committees, as well as questions, resolutions, motions or adjournment motions before they are officially presented in the house or formally released, has been declared an offence.
