Pakistan, June 12 -- Residents of Karachi are facing prolonged electricity outages despite an intense heatwave gripping the city. Many citizens have reported that the Karachi Power Outage Crisis has worsened in recent days, with power cuts in several areas reportedly exceeding 12 hours and causing severe hardship during the hot weather.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi remained under the influence of hot and humid conditions throughout the day. The maximum temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius, while the heat index made it feel as hot as 51 degrees Celsius. Officials noted that the city's temperature was 4.1 degrees Celsius above normal levels.
