Pakistan, Oct. 6 -- Karachi Police arrested more than 990 suspects and apprehended 51 alleged robbers, including 41 injured in encounters, during the past week, according to a Karachi police spokesperson on Monday.

District police engaged suspected robbers in 32 encounters across the city, during which 51 suspects were arrested. Police recovered 44 illegal weapons of different types, one car and 17 motorcycles from the arrested suspects.

During the week, police arrested more than 990 suspects in operations across the East, West and South zones of Karachi.
