Pakistan, June 10 -- Karachi is facing extreme heat conditions as the feels-like temperature surged to 49degC on Wednesday. The intense weather is affecting daily life in the city and increasing health risks for residents. The heatwave is part of a broader weather system impacting several parts of Pakistan.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the temperature was recorded at 37degC with high humidity levels. Relative humidity reached 56 percent, which significantly increased the heat index. Moreover, winds blowing at 26 kilometres per hour offered limited relief from the scorching conditions.
