Pakistan, Oct. 30 -- A Model Criminal Court East in Karachi sentenced police officer Shahryar to death after convicting him of killing a young man in a staged police encounter. Presiding judicial officers announced the formal trial verdict in the high-profile murder case originating from the Gulistan-e-Johar neighborhood. Furthermore, the court sentenced co-accused police officers Nasir and Faisal to life imprisonment for their direct involvement in the fatal shooting incident. Consequently, the trial judge ordered all three convicted personnel to pay Rs500,000 each in monetary compensation to the victim's grieving family members.
