Pakistan, Aug. 16 -- Jamaat-e-Islami has announced nationwide sit-ins against the petroleum levy from August 16, with protests starting at 4pm. The party plans demonstrations outside chief minister and governor houses across four provinces.

JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman announced the protest campaign during a press conference in Lahore. He warned that government attempts to obstruct the demonstrations could turn the campaign into a movement against the government.
