Pakistan, Aug. 9 -- Jamaat-e-Islami has announced nationwide sit-ins from August 16, with demonstrations planned across all four provinces over its political and economic demands. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by JI emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, attended by provincial and major city leaders through video link. The party had initially planned the sit-ins for August 9 but postponed them to allow broader Independence Day celebrations. The protests will now begin simultaneously across the country.
