Pakistan, Aug. 21 -- Jamaat-e-Islami has announced plans to intensify its protest movement against the government over the petroleum levy, soaring inflation, high electricity bills, and agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs). Party chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman warned that if the government does not withdraw the levy, protests will expand nationwide, with a possible march towards Islamabad. He also demanded the release of political prisoners, including Imran Khan, and implementation of Supreme Court decisions.
