Pakistan, Sept. 19 -- A US woman arrested on a theft charge has gone viral on social media after users pointed out her striking resemblance to singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.

Sirena Ann Quast, 35, was arrested on August 30 in Monticello, Minnesota, after allegedly stealing two packs of power-tool batteries worth about $580, according to a criminal complaint.

A store employee reportedly recognised Quast from an earlier theft and alerted police.

According to arrest records, she admitted to taking the batteries and was subsequently arrested on a theft charge.

However, it was her post-arrest photograph that sparked widespread reactions on social media, with users comparing her appearance to Lopez.
