Pakistan, Sept. 11 -- Police in Jaranwala raided two bookshops and recovered a large quantity of allegedly pirated books. Two shop owners were arrested during the operation. The action has raised concerns among students, parents, publishers, and legitimate booksellers in the area.

The operation targeted Khalid Book Depot in Kacheri Bazaar and Al-Siddique Old Books. Police carried out the raids under instructions from Jaranwala SP Akhtar Venus. City Jaranwala SHO Muzaffar Khokhar supervised the operation.

Khalid Book Depot owner Bilal and Al-Siddique Old Books owner Ajmal were arrested. Police also seized a large stock of Sharh Sarmaiya Urdu during the action. Officials took the recovered books into custody for further legal proceedings....
