Pakistan, Aug. 17 -- Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has demanded an end to the petrol levy and called for fuel prices to be reduced to Rs225 per litre amid rising inflation.
Addressing party workers during a protest in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem criticised the government over increasing petroleum prices, unemployment and the growing financial pressure on ordinary citizens.
He accused the privileged class of exploiting the public and described the petrol levy as an unfair tax. He also alleged that authorities were increasing fuel prices while separately imposing additional taxes on consumers.
