Pakistan, June 17 -- Italy has announced the deployment of an advanced air defense system in central Turkiye as part of NATO's ongoing defense strategy. The move is aimed at strengthening the alliance's regional security posture and enhancing collective air defense capabilities.
According to Turkiye's Ministry of Defense, an SAMP/T air defense system will be stationed at the Third Main Jet Base Command in Konya under NATO's standing defense plan. The deployment is intended to reinforce NATO's integrated air and missile defense network.
