Israel has reaffirmed its demand for the release of all hostages in any future ceasefire with Hamas, following the group's acceptance of a new truce proposal aimed at ending nearly two years of war.

Mediators from Qatar and Egypt, supported by the United States, presented the proposal to Israel, which includes a 60-day truce, partial hostage release, freeing some Palestinian prisoners, and allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza.

A senior Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the government's stance remained firm, insisting that any agreement must secure the release of all hostages before Israel would commit to ending hostilities.
