Pakistan, Sept. 9 -- Islamabad authorities have imposed an indefinite ban on all sheesha cafes in the capital. The ban covers both indoor and outdoor establishments, including those holding NOCs.

The decision follows Islamabad High Court directions to regulate sheesha cafes within one month. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon confirmed the immediate ban through an official statement. He warned that violators could face sealing of their cafes and criminal cases.

The court had sought details about sheesha cafes and alleged NOC violations. IHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar summoned senior officials during the hearing. The court said cafes could not continue under existing arrangements without proper regulations.
