Pakistan, Aug. 18 -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has rejected US President Donald Trump's claim of backchannel communications. The IRGC said no talks are underway between its officials and Washington.

IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi dismissed Trump's claim that US officials were directly communicating with the corps. He said diplomatic engagement falls under Iran's Foreign Ministry.

Mohebbi said no diplomatic discussions were currently taking place with Washington. He attributed the situation to what he described as repeated US violations of previous agreements.
