Pakistan, Sept. 24 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has explained why he departed from his prepared speech during his address to the United Nations General Assembly. He said he changed his remarks after hearing what he described as threats from US President Donald Trump.

Speaking to Iranian media, Pezeshkian said Iran's military strength was intended for defence. He said Tehran wanted cooperation for regional security and wanted neighbouring countries to remain strong.
