Pakistan, Aug. 24 -- Iran has warned vessels using the Strait of Hormuz that violations could bring serious penalties. The measures may include fines, detention, or confiscation, according to Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority. The warning increases risks for shipowners and charterers operating through the major energy route.
The Persian Gulf Strait Authority issued the warning in a post on X. The authority said vessels must follow Iran's arrangements for crossing the waterway. It also advised cargo owners to check an updated list of non-compliant vessels.
