Pakistan, July 1 -- Iran warned on Wednesday that it would respond immediately and forcefully to any threat against its people or leadership. The statement came as US and Iranian officials held technical talks in Doha. The negotiations are focused on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and securing a lasting ceasefire.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi issued the warning in a post on X. He said Iran would deliver a powerful response to any hostile action targeting the country or its leadership. Araqchi also referred to what he described as a US commitment to restrain Israel from escalating tensions.
