Pakistan, Aug. 17 -- Iran says the 60-day period for talks with Washington has lost relevance after alleged US violations. Tehran says negotiations never began under the memorandum.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei rejected claims that the memorandum imposed a fixed 60-day deadline. He said Iran does not formulate policy under pressure, ultimatums, or time limits.

According to Baqaei, the memorandum envisaged 60 days of negotiations on sanctions relief and nuclear issues. He added that both sides could extend negotiations if they failed to reach agreement.
