Pakistan, June 4 -- Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has called for national unity and solidarity, saying external adversaries are attempting to create divisions within the country after failing to achieve their objectives on the battlefield.

The message was delivered on the occasion of the 37th death anniversary of Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic. Khamenei's written statement was read out during a commemorative ceremony attended by officials, religious figures and members of the public.
