Pakistan, Aug. 12 -- Iran-Oman negotiations in Qatar have entered a crucial stage as Doha pushes for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said the talks had reached an advanced stage. He said Qatar supports all efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.

Al Ansari said Qatar, acting as a mediator, wants the Strait of Hormuz reopened as soon as possible. The waterway remains strategically important for regional and international shipping.
