Pakistan, May 11 -- Iran has defended the demands outlined in its latest response to a United States peace proposal after President Donald Trump dismissed Tehran's reply as "totally unacceptable," deepening uncertainty around efforts to end the regional conflict.

Speaking at a weekly press briefing in Tehran on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said Iran's response focused on what he described as the country's "legitimate rights" rather than seeking concessions from Washington.
