Pakistan, July 21 -- A medium-level flood in the Indus River has caused large-scale destruction in the Layyah region, submerging more than 40 villages. The sudden rise in water levels has swept away homes and damaged crops over thousands of acres. Residents are now shifting their livestock and belongings to safer areas to avoid further loss.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), a powerful 424,000 cusec flood wave is expected to pass through Layyah tonight. Authorities have issued alerts, warning residents to remain cautious and prepared. This warning comes as water levels continue to rise, increasing the risk of further destruction.
