Pakistan, Sept. 25 -- India's plan to establish Integrated Theatre Commands faces concerns over military readiness and equipment shortages. The restructuring aims to bring the army, navy and air force under joint operational commands. However, the Indian Air Force faces a major shortage of fighter squadrons. According to the report, the force had 29 fighter squadrons in April 2026. This figure remains below its sanctioned strength of 42 squadrons. The report says these shortages could complicate the implementation of the proposed structure.
