Pakistan, July 25 -- The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has declared the sentence suspension petitions filed by lawyer and activist Iman Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, maintainable in the controversial tweets case, allowing the appeals to proceed.

Justice Mohammad Azam Khan issued the reserved verdict, dismissing a miscellaneous application filed by the prosecution that challenged the admissibility of the petitions. The court ruled that the sentence suspension requests submitted by the convicted couple were legally maintainable.
