SINGAPORE, Aug. 19 -- Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slowed on Wednesday as uncertainty over the waterway continued. Most shipowners remained cautious about using the strategic route.

Kpler data showed that six commodity vessels crossed the strait on Tuesday. The figure fell from nine crossings recorded a day earlier. It also remained below the 10-day daily average of 11 vessels. The vessels included crude carriers and fuel tankers.

Two medium-range fuel tankers and a post-Panamax vessel exited the strait. An empty very large crude carrier also entered the waterway. The carrier followed the Omani side of the strait. The limited traffic reflected continued concerns among s...
