U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has dismissed the head of the Defense Intelligence (DIA), Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse. Two other top military commanders were also removed in what officials call a sweeping purge of Pentagon leadership under President Donald Trump.
Three U.S. officials confirmed the firings on Friday, though no official reason was given. However, Kruse's ouster follows a leaked DIA report contradicting Trump's claims about airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. The report suggested only short-term damage, clashing with Trump's "obliteration" narrative.
