Pakistan, April 7 -- A gunman was killed and two others wounded in a shootout outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. Two police officers were also lightly injured in the incident, which raises security concerns for diplomatic missions. Authorities identified the attackers and are investigating their affiliations.
Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci said the assailants arrived from Izmit in a rental vehicle. One of the attackers is linked to an "organisation that exploits the region," officials said. Turkish media suggested the group may be the militant Islamic State.
