LAHORE, Oct. 11 -- A gunman opened fire outside an Ahmadi community worship place in Chenab Nagar, Chiniot district, on Friday, injuring six security guards before being shot dead by police.

The attack took place outside Baitul Mehdi, a prominent Ahmadi worship place in Rabwah, when the assailant approached carrying a pistol and opened fire on volunteer security guards stationed at the entrance. According to CCTV footage, the guards-members of the local community-managed to close the main gate amid the assault, preventing the attacker from entering.
