Pakistan, July 3 -- Pakistan's power distribution companies (DISCOs) plan to expand electricity access in FY2026-27 by electrifying 15,327 villages and adding 1,689,849 new consumer connections, with rural access and consumer-base expansion emerging as key targets of the distribution sector plan.
According to a document of the Power Division available with Wealth Pakistan, the planned investments aim to support progress on SDG Indicator 7.1.1, which relates to the share of the population with access to electricity. The initiatives are expected to significantly expand electricity access in both urban and rural areas.
