Pakistan, Aug. 6 -- The government increased the price of petrol by Rs 4.45 per litre while cutting the high-speed diesel (HSD) price by Rs 2 per litre, effective from Thursday, August 6.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Wednesday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government's petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of Motor Spirit (petrol) was increased by Rs 4.45 per litre, taking it from Rs 328.56 to Rs 333.01 per litre.

The price of HSD went down by Rs 2 per litre, from Rs 385.86 to Rs 383.86 per litre.
