The federal government, army, and NDMA held a joint press briefing in Islamabad on the recent monsoon crisis. Officials reported that the heavy rains have killed 670 people across Pakistan. Many others are injured or missing. NDMA teams are still searching for people swept away by floods. Emergency rescue operations continue in all affected regions.
DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif said the floods damaged roads and bridges, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. To respond quickly, the army deployed two engineering battalions in KP and two in Gilgit-Baltistan. These units are clearing blocked roads and rebuilding broken infrastructure.
