Pakistan, April 25 -- Pakistan raises petrol and diesel prices sharply nationwide, increasing fuel costs for consumers. The government announced a major hike affecting daily transportation and goods movement. This decision has triggered concern among the public across the country.

According to official notification, petrol price increased by 26.77 rupees per liter. Similarly, diesel price also went up by 26.77 rupees per liter. Petroleum Division Pakistan issued the formal notification confirming the changes.

Under the new rates, petrol will cost 393.35 rupees per liter. In addition, diesel price has been set at 380.19 rupees per liter. The new prices will take effect from midnight today, as announced by authorities.
