Pakistan, Aug. 3 -- The All Pakistan Goods Transporters Alliance has announced an indefinite nationwide strike from August 8. The transporters said they would suspend operations over fuel prices, taxes, and regulatory concerns.

Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan announced the strike during a press conference. He demanded the withdrawal of increases in petroleum prices and toll taxes.

The transporters also called for monthly fuel price adjustments instead of daily changes. Moreover, they demanded a reduction in withholding tax from seven percent to two percent.
