Pakistan, July 28 -- The global fight against HIV faces a serious setback after international funding fell by 18% in 2025, raising concerns about a resurgence of the epidemic, according to a new report released by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

The report, unveiled at the International AIDS Conference in Brazil, warns that the sharp decline in financial support threatens decades of progress in reducing new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths. International HIV funding dropped to $7.3 billion last year, marking its lowest level in nearly two decades.
