Pakistan, Nov. 23 -- Leaders at the G20 summit in Johannesburg adopted a declaration addressing climate change and global economic challenges despite the absence of the United States, highlighting tensions between Pretoria and Washington.

The declaration, drafted without US input, "cannot be renegotiated," South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's spokesperson said, signaling friction as the White House accused South Africa of using its G20 presidency to undermine the group's consensus traditions.
