Pakistan, Sept. 11 -- France has withdrawn its support for Gianni Infantino's bid for another term as FIFA president in March 2027. The French Football Federation said concerns over FIFA's governance influenced its unanimous decision. France has also joined several European federations that have moved away from supporting the incumbent.

The federation's president, Philippe Diallo, said France believes trust in FIFA's leadership has been damaged. He argued that the organisation's current approach to governing world football no longer reflects the federation's position. Belgium, Italy, Scotland, Sweden and Wales have also withdrawn their backing for Infantino.
