Pakistan, Sept. 25 -- France will deploy troops and defence systems to Saudi Arabia to help protect Yanbu. President Emmanuel Macron said the measures would safeguard the Red Sea port and energy supplies.

Macron said France would send soldiers, radar systems and defensive equipment to the strategic site. He stressed that the deployment aimed to protect Yanbu rather than involve France in another conflict.

Yanbu serves as an important route for Saudi energy exports through the Red Sea. Oil prices have recently increased as missile attacks have threatened the alternative export route from Saudi Arabia.
