Pakistan, Aug. 3 -- Former Afghan parliamentarian Baktash Siawash has strongly criticized the Taliban and predicted the group's rule will end soon. He said the Taliban do not represent Islam and accused them of damaging the religion's image. Moreover, he claimed the group's policies have alienated many people inside Afghanistan.

Speaking in an interview with Afghanistan International, Siawash said the Taliban have no connection with the true teachings of Islam. He argued that the group's actions portray Islam as a religion opposed to women, education, art, and humanity. Furthermore, he said such policies have harmed both Afghanistan's society and the global perception of Islam.
