Pakistan has reported its first confirmed Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) from Attock arrived in Islamabad from Dubai on August 15, 2025, officials confirmed.

Health authorities said the man displayed monkeypox symptoms upon arrival at the airport, after which Basic Health Staff promptly referred him to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for further evaluation.

On August 18, the National Institute of Health officially confirmed the patient had contracted monkeypox, and he is currently in home isolation under medical supervision to prevent further spread.
