Pakistan, Sept. 4 -- Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb says difficult decisions have helped Pakistan achieve greater economic stability. He said the government would prevent the country from returning to repeated economic booms and crises.

Speaking at an Islamabad event, Aurangzeb highlighted improvements in tax collection and fiscal management. He said Federal Board of Revenue income increased by 40 percent in recent years. He added that the tax-to-GDP ratio rose from 8.8 percent to 10.3 percent. Meanwhile, the overall fiscal deficit declined from 12.5 percent to 2.6 percent.
