Pakistan, Sept. 24 -- The federal government has announced plans to challenge the amended Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act in the Supreme Court. State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry made the announcement during a press conference in Islamabad. He said the federal government had several options regarding the amended law.

Chaudhry said the provincial cabinet had approved the amended Police Act. He urged the provincial government to reconsider the changes. According to him, the federal government would challenge the legislation before the Supreme Court.
