Pakistan, May 13 -- Federal Board of Revenue has directed international non-government organisations operating in Pakistan to submit detailed documentation for mandatory tax registration under new proposed rules. The move aims to strengthen oversight of foreign organisations while improving transparency in financial and operational reporting across the country.

The tax authority issued S.R.O. 856(I)/2026, which introduces draft amendments to the Income Tax Rules 2002. Moreover, the proposed framework requires INGOs to provide comprehensive details including name, business address, accounting period, principal activity and full contact information for proper registration.
