Pakistan, Oct. 31 -- The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) failed to achieve its assigned tax revenue collection target for October 2026. The revenue authority provisionally collected Rs975 billion against the monthly target of Rs1,131 billion. Consequently, the tax collection faced an immediate monthly shortfall of Rs156 billion during the reporting period. Furthermore, financial analysts noted that slower economic activity impacted overall revenue generation across major sectors. Therefore, federal authorities are evaluating remedial measures to address the widening revenue gap.
