Pakistan, March 12 -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued warnings to California law enforcement agencies about a potential "surprise" attack on the US west coast, reportedly planned by Iran using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from an unidentified vessel.

The warnings, circulated last month by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, indicated that the potential attack could target unspecified locations in California if the US conducted strikes against Iran. However, sources familiar with counterterrorism efforts told Los Angeles Times that the threat is cautionary and "has not been deemed credible at this time."
