Pakistan, Aug. 18 -- The European Union plans to significantly expand sanctions against Russia in the coming months. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced the planned measures.

Kallas said she would propose the EU's most extensive sanctions list since the war began. She said the measures would further increase pressure on Moscow.

According to Kallas, the new package could increase the number of sanctioned Russian individuals and entities by one-third. She did not provide specific details about the proposed targets.
